Saturday May 15th, Royal LePage offices all across Canada all took part in hosting giant garage sales in theirs parking lots. Here in New Minas, all the staff (20+) met sleepy-eyed at about 7AM to start setting up for the big event. Atlas Van Lines donated an 18-wheeler trailer for us to store all the goodies in prior to the garage sale. By Saturday morning it was brimming to the top with goodies.
We weren't long setting up before the early birds started coming in. At our garage sale here in New Minas, we made over $2100 in less than 4 hours (the weather didn't cooperate for any longer), and all the money raised went to the Chrysalis House, a shelter for women and children right here in Kings County.
Nationally, this year Royal LePage Offices raised over $300,000, up from $120,000 last year. That's HUGE! Everyone who took part should feel very proud of that accomplishment.
Thank you to all those across the country who donated items, and of course to the garage sale enthusiasts themselves, who made the $300,000 donation possible.
Perhaps next year we'll aim for the $500,000 mark!
